Health Benefits of Banana

This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it the perfect way to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration have just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit’s ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

Banana is a 'cooling' fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Tropics, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.
Riper bananas help relieve diarrhea. It is a very good source of fructooligosaccharide that nourishes the friendly probiotic bacteria in the colon which help improve our ability to absorb nutrients such as calcium.
Bananas grow from rhizomes, which are stems that take root and send shoots (suckers) up through the soil. Banana plants may also be propagated through suckers (also called pups or ratoons) that grow from the main stem of the banana plant. If you have difficulty in finding banana rhizomes at your local nursery, you can find them in most garden catalogs as well as Internet garden outlets.

The first thing you should know is that the banana diet does not require you to eat bananas as your main meal. There are many nutrients that you would not be getting if you ate bananas exclusively. You need protein, fat and vitamins in your diet that just do not come in bananas. You will make yourself ill if you eat nothing but bananas for all of your meals. Many people are so eager to lose weight that they go a little overboard with their diet plans and cause more problems down the road. Make sure that you use some common sense when you follow this diet.
This diet is relatively simple to follow. This requires the person to eat only banana/s in the morning for breakfast plus a glass of lukewarm water as breakfast in the morning. The person is allowed to eat whatever he/she decides to eat for the rest of the day. However, he/she is not allowed to eat beyond 8 o'clock in the evening. This regimen however is not recommended for everybody. Heath experts discourage people suffering from constipation and those whose potassium intake needed to be regulated.
